Work-day at the New Worship Place

Sunday 22^nd Jan was a work day for us at the new place of worship near Adoor market. This was the place where we had our first VBS in 2002. We have leased this place for 11 months. Children, youths, and adults gathered last Sunday at 3 pm for cleanup. The old building is being remodeled. Wooden trusses have been replaced by metal ones. Side walls are being built. Next is painting and stage construction. We may need one more cleanup before we begin our worship there on Feb 5^th. Pray that God will continue to come and dwell in that place and the community will continue to be transformed by His presence.

Hindi Christmas Celebration

This December was a special time for our Hindi speaking friends. For the first time we organized a Hindi Christmas gathering. Children’s action songs, skit and choreography of youths made this program colorful. Christmas tree and Christmas father (Santa Claus) were other specialties. The Christmas message reminded us that we do not need to fear to look at life ahead as Jesus will be with us always. Thanks to the organizers and youths for the fabulous presentation.

Christmas at the Orphanage

This Christmas season was a special time for us. We took the opportunity to bless 38 children, 17 boys and 21 girls in two different children’s homes near Adoor. Church members brought gifts in wrapped shoe boxes for them. Our children, youths and adults are grateful for this opportunity to bless others. Children from the children’s home and church participated in various programs. It was a time to share our joy with these children and to remind them of the gift of Jesus who is Immanuel, God with us. May God continue to soften our hearts for those who are less privileged.

Orphanage Visit

A delightful visit to a children’s home with 21 children. Last week we visited another home with 15 boys. Church members filled shoe boxes with gifts. A great ministry opportunity for our children.

Santa Revealed! Christmas caroling at the Vineyard. Jeswin and Aju led a group of young people and visited many homes of people in Adoor and Punalur.

New Place for Worship

From January 1st we will be meeting at Vyabara Bhavan opposite Nyanam Theatre.

More than ten years we been meeting at Lals Residency. That was certainly was a blessing for the entire church.

Visit to Punalur Vineyard

We visited the Punalur Vineyard last sunday. It was great to see God’s work there in that town. I believe that God has a plan for that place and that we will have an important role in that. Please pray for James and Bincy as they continue to minister there.

In the following weeks a new intern will be joining them for one year. His name is Titus who is from Karavalur, a place close to Punalur. Looking forward to working together in the harvest. Anu continues to help lead worship, but at the same time he is involved in the new Carecell in Ernakulam along with Jerin from Adoor Vineyard.

Youth Meeting at the Vineyard

About 40 young people gathered on 30 May 2011 for a time of worship and prayer. In between worship sets, two short teaching sessions were given. Most of the time was spent on worship and prayer. The prayer sessions were quite focused with the young people praying for each other along with some selected adults. At the end there were testimonies of those who were touched by God during this time. Many expressed interest in doing this on a monthly basis. Thanks to all who prayed, and to all those who worked hard to put this event together.
